Usability and Accessibility

Making Things Simple

Monday Lambson's design principles put the user first. We never lose sight of why you need a Website—to communicate. That's why usability and ease of navigation are so important. If your Website users can't find what they're looking for quickly, they'll most likely go somewhere else. If they have to struggle to understand the information on your Website, they'll most likely go somewhere else.

All design elements—graphic design, user interface design—must serve the goal of simple, effective communication. We strive to build Websites that are uncluttered, easily readable, and a pleasure to use.

Proving It

When any small frustration can lead users to navigate away from your Website and onto that of a competitor, validating your Website's usability becomes a key part of the development cycle.

At Monday Lambson we validate our Website designs using a variety of tools: analytics, A/B testing, in-lab usability testing, and the use of heatmaps, confetti diagrams and other procedures.

Usability studies have been demonstrated to be of tremendous value in improving website interface design and user interaction. High ROI on small investments are well documented throughout the industry. In fact, the general consensus is that simple, small-scale, qualitative usability studies provide the biggest “bang for the buck” and are able to identify the majority of defects or opportunities for improvement.

Accommodation of Special Needs

Usability extends to people with special needs as well: those who are visually impaired, or use alternative devices for computer input or output. In general, we design all Websites to conform to the World Wide Web Consortium's Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) Level "A" accessibility guidelines for the visually or otherwise impaired. If needed, we can build your Website to Level "AA" or "AAA" guidelines.
